Thread: Catalyst v4.1 m152

You could of course try a Decklink Intensity...
Get a display capable of displaying 720p60 or an Image Pro HD, program a DVI detective with the EDID information. Plug it into your laptop, and plug a DVI to HDMI cable to connect the output of the DVI detective to go into the Decklink Intensity. Set Catalyst Video Input to look at the Decklink Intensity at 720p60 and off you go... No deinterlacing required (which effectively reduces the resolution), and RGB...

    Just a thought...

The Intensity absolutely KILLS performance and reduces framrates by half. I wouldn't go this route.

The Decklink Extreme HD is now the only option for mac pros (895USD)

no it doesnt kill performance - its the nvidia 7300 that does this- like i said. the nvidia 7300 is really stretched doing mulitple outputs.

i have had to replace several with x1900 on shows.

it works fine with x1900. it works fine doing 1080i providing you are not trying to do to many other things at the same time

video input REQUIRES careful consideration of playback, and conservative operation.

you need to replace your 7300.

Hugh and myself have both used intensity cards successfully on shows.

I have a show at the national theatre running with one now.

intensity has much better latency than decklink hd.

The digital Dual Head 2 Go boxes are now capable of outputting 3840x1200 or 3840x1080.

I have been wondering about the performance of a machine outputting this and using the second output as a HUD for show control.

The problem would be the need of having submix sizes up to 1920x1200 or 1920x1080.
