the dmx artnet changes have been there for a few weeks now.

means you have much more flexibilty with the distribution and layout of artnet networking and infrastructure- important in large shows.
i just did a 50 universe show in argentina

I just downloaded and tried to run v4.05.
The software seems to start up fine until it begins to scan for objects and then it causes my primary monitor to go black. The only way out that I can find is to quit. Any ideas?

Hi mark ...sound like a resolution or refresh rate monitor problem.
Normally catalyst start resolution at 1024 x 768 at 75 hertz this frequence
not is good for old monitors. put this monitor like secondary (you can set different refresh time after start catalyst) and put on primary monitor new one.

Something to try:
Catalyst has a function that will make it go into full screen mode at the program startup. When at the black screen, hit the "s" key to exit full screen mode on output 1 or the "f" key to exit full screen mode on output 2. If you wish to disable this function for now, the setting is located on the Layer mix options for each output on the GUI.

scan for objects - you mean 3d objects?
