Catalyst does indeed need to start after the G5 sees the cards in order for all to work correctly. Also, it is sometimes necessary to deselect the [Video Input] function on the Catalyst Control window in order to select the desired card.

what do you mean by "resolution leaves something to be desired"?

which software version are you using?

Ill try and get a version available as soon as possible that does a better attempt at deinteraling live video input.

The resolution issue we are having is related to the cameras we are using and the inherent limitations of SD video.
The Catalyst version is the 4 layer/ 2 video input version.
The only real issue I have with this current implementation is that we are setting up a tour that ideally would be "idiot-proof" for the touring techs. They are smart people but we would prefer to have it all working cleanly upon startup.

yes. sd video is the limitation.
you dont notice it on a tv because a tv is optimised to hide the resolution limits.
    computer displays arent.

I have made some improvements to deinterlacing in the last few weeks.

I try and get a new build up today. see if this works better.

    Rod,

Did you have to do anything special in configuration to get the two cards working?

I have been using 1 Alchemy with my G5 here in London.

I have a colleague in Spain who wants to set up a 2 input system so any help would be gratefully received.

people need to test out f24 to see if it helps.

    Higher resolution cameras

There are higher resolution cameras available usually for scientific uses.

    This is one such source:

Anyone like to try using these things?

You shouldnt have to do any configuration - other than install the drivers.
    I dont think?

    No additional setup was necessary.
As previously posted, Catalyst doesn't always see the cards correctly if the sources (camera feeds) aren't connected upon launch of Catalyst. In addition, the Catalyst Control window seems to need to have Video Input 1 deselected, then Video Input 2 needs to get assigned to Card 2, THEN re-select Input 1 and assign it to Card 1.
This is with an older version, so Richard may have fixed some of these issues already. Your mileage may vary.

    Rodd.
    Can you try f24?

Dont endanger any show. Dont test on a show machine.
Or if you do, create an entirely new folder for the f24 build, and dont put the old build in there. This will preserve any settings.

The switching of video cards around between startups might be in Miglia's drivers.
    Maybe.
