    SATA for Laptops

A PC card for Laptops that gives you 2 SATA connections, and it's only $60.
Also, coming soon is the new quad-interface G-drive from g-technology

these two probably wont be compatible, but both have a lot of promise for better storage on-site with you laptop.

there isnt anything wrong with using firewire for laptops.

the drive itself is the performance block. not normally the interfacing.

you are better off with a sata drive in a firewire case.
firewire is designed for hot plugging.

    also.

there isnt any performance difference between sata ide and normal ide.
the drive interface technology hasnt changed performance of the drive.
