Hi
It all helped a lot, it works but theres a 3-4sec lag on incoming DMX to Catalyst response.
So i found i new firmware for the E-Gate. I´m going to try it now and see what happens. Thnaks alot for all tip´s!

Hi
It made a big improvement but still 2sec delay into the Catalyst. So i think i will stick with the CIB for the "HighEnd" systems and go for ethernet with the cheaper.
We have to G4 with external FWdrives who makes the basic "mediaserver" job nicely. They are fitted with the Radeon8500. We use smaller media than usual for those machines.
I also have tried the MacMini and it does the same. You might want to scale down youre media though for smooth playback...

dont these guys test their products?
i never had any issues with the artistic licence boxes.
this stuff should just work out of the box.
converting dmx to ethernet and vice versa is completely trivial.
2 secs delay? thats rubbish design.
there shouldnt be any delay.

you wont get more than 2 dv layers at 25fps
The Artistic Artnet products work well - the rack version is a bit over-spec'd but the up-lynx box is good value.
Check out their website and look out for new products at Plasa...
If you want a smaller widget - the SandBox EMX2/10 offers 2 bi-directional DMX ports and easy Ethernet connectivity - but do check that it works withot the software running on a PC somewhere on the network.... mine doesn't for some reason - and it should!......
the etherlynx box is good it only has a dip switch to configure, and it works.
these worked as well:

used them as pixelmad output on a recent tour.
their setup menus are slightly confusing, but it worked well.
