    ATI Rom update

    Hey Richard,

I just noticed on ATI's website that there is a new (aug 2005) rom file for the Radeon cards. Have you used it? Is there any benefit?

    they release these things endlessly.

its extremely difficult to give any advice that doesnt include great caution, and/or potential disaster.

the recommendation of all computer based products when confronted by an 'upgrade' has to be - unless there is a compelling need - dont F**K with it.

If it aint broke dont touch it.

and if you have a show up and running with this stuff- NEVER MAKE ANY CHANGES OR UPGRADES during the run of the show.
You will blow your show out if you have problems.

I appeciate the words of caution.

So, is there no 'compelling need' from your perspective?

    they are still fixing bugs.
but ati always introduce more when they do this

its one step forwards 2 steps backwards with these things.

    i just installed this myself.
it didnt seem to break anything on 10.4.2

but i expect my computer to crap out the whole time anyway
