Thread: Bring back CD play?

    Bring back CD play?

Thanks for looking at the QT issue.

I read in one of the threads that the ability to play a cd from the internal drive is now gone, and indeed I see that it is.

How difficult would it be to put this back in? In several of the theaters that
I am currently using SAMSC in, we use cd's for preshow and intermission
music. While in this day of large hard drives, we could easily rip the cd to
the drive, I would then have to program the playing of all those files with
appropriate WAIT cues. Also, occasionally a corporate client will buy out the house for a private show and want to have there own music, messages, etc playing rather than our preshow. By being able to play it directly from a cd we can do this easily.

Certainly not a deal buster on using the new version; just a thought based on the way that we use the program.

    Thanks,
    El

you cant 'play' the cd anymore.
    apple removed the api.

    - i believe you can load the tracks directly from the cd disc into the quicktime player, just point qt player at the disc, then the track.
    I think this will work.

Ok, thanks. I didn't realize that it was an apple thing.

I'll give the qt player a shot.
