I just re-encoded the movie and viola the issue is gone! To think I had a server next dayed over this (It crashed during a show as the programming had multiple layers scanning past this file locking up the server, and eventually when all 6 layers were locked up, "Catalyst has unexpectedly quit"
Things are good now! All the UK shows are looking amazing!

it is possible to have some things which causes quicktime crashes.
motion files seem to have extra bits added.
using embedded quicktime fx also doesnt work.

do you know what your original file was?
can you send me a copy?
