    Quicktime playback & multichannel audio

when I use Quicktime playback and Multichannel Audio (Motu 828 MKII)simultaniousely, I can't ouput to one of the Motu outputs..are greyed out.

Once Quicktime playback is not in use, the outputs are available again..
Has this something to do with Firewire ??

    default was built in audio,

tried it again, removed quicktime playback, updated setup, installed quicktime devices again.

think I made a mistake, connected Motu after device setup, maybe old settings ...works fine now.

its not really clear what if any should be the priority.
I think that OSX is supposed to work with non-exclusive access to sound resources- meaning multiple applications can access same sound output.

But I think that this ability can also be selectively turned off by drivers.

Tiger OSX 10.4 will also totally change quicktime audio output, supposedly quicktime will final support multichannel playback in movies.
