Capturing HDV footage in Imovie HD

Lara managed to capture some test clips from the HDR-FX1 last night onto the laptop.

The latest version of iMovie that is part of iLife '05 contains iMovie HD which is compatible with HDV cameras.

    The 3 attachments here show,

    1. iMovie displaying a 1080i clip, and the clips window.
    2. The content of the 'my great movie' folder, which iMovie stores digitised clips into.
    3. The clips opened in Quicktime player, showing that they are using the 'apple intermediate codec', not MPEG2, MPEG2 is not editable.

Final Cut express HD can also edit HDV footage. bought a copy today after doing a test shoot..

seems to work very well. A bit more usable than iMovieHD
