Xsan is a new file system which promises good bandwidth.

    Hi Richard,

Did a demo for a visitor centre install which is planned to have Xsan distribution.

They are looking at Catalyst to feed images to projectors in an interactive visitor attraction and I think they were interested in having the content served over the network (as it will be for the other attractions).

Could this work with Catalyst (now or in the future) or will you still get better performance with a local SCSI drive?

I do not know the performance.

We will have to try and get some equipment and test this out.

Im trying to get an xraid from apple at the moment.

Let me know if you want to try some testing.

I can get in touch with the people who are speccing this system as they are an Apple dealer and should have the hardware available.
