    No idea yet, as it hasn't been released as far as I am aware.
    I'll get one when it has and do some testing.

    no mac compatible x800 boards exist as of yet.

    will require pci-express to be implemented in any new g5 hardware.
    i have a pc version

    Actually Richard, if you follow the link provided in my original post, you will see that ATI debuted this new card specifically for the G5 system at Macworld.

    you are right,
    i have not had web access for a couple of weeks.
    i thought that the x800 would need pci-express.
    wonder when ati will actually get one on sale though.

    this should work with catalyst.
    wont increase playback performance at the moment as the bottleneck in not in the graphics card.

    Right, but might we be able to get some new effects out of it?

    i have to write the effects.

    they dont take much graphics power - in general.

    better blurring will be possible with the 16 parallel graphics pipelines.

    The Mac X800 is listed as being in stock.
