    <Help!> Catalyst/Virtuoso

Ian Reith called today from PRG London (VLPS) where he is prepping a system to go out to Japan. He is having problem's interfacing a Virtuoso desk to his Catalyst.

Has anyone used this desk with Catalyst?

If so and they have any advice/libraries they can offer, Ian would appreciate it enormously as there seems to be no experience of this combination in the UK.

    His mobile number is:

    + 44 7710609455

Or post here and I will try and relay info.

    Thanks

Nev is with Ian but they can't get to the bottom of it.

Not knowing the Virtuoso I can't say for sure myself what the problem is.

Ian asked me if I knew of anyone who has run the Catalyst from Virtuoso and I'm not aware of anyone in the UK who has (and if Nev isn't aware of anyone either it doesn't sound likely it has been done).

Presumably someone out at PRG (formerly VLPS) in LA has as they own shed loads of both items....

Perhaps someone can confirm that it will work.

I'm presuming he is having library definition problems but I'm waiting for him to call me back.

From what he describes the Virtuoso behaves correctly when used to control the Catalyst manually but when cues are stored layer respond correctly in playback but layer 2 onwards displays the wrong library.

It sounds like a kind of tracking issue.

Not knowing the desk its difficult to say.

Ian himself may be able to put some more detail to this thread when he gets back from VLPS.

    He does indeed!

Turns out there is a library definition bug which means this behaviour occurs if you patch sequentially, IE.

You need to leave a channel, as if it were a 41 channel fixture, IE.
