Thread: file renaming scripts

  1. file renaming scripts

    Can anyone recommend file renaming scripts?
    I'm typically dealing with hundreds of custom elements delivered
    to me on-site and want an easier/faster way to rename and number them.

    Graphic convertor will renumber every file in a folder in a way that works with Catalyst.

    Use File->'Convert and Modify'
    choose 'Rename' option.

    Choose the folder you want to rename.

    Click on 'Go' you then get the options for indexing your files.

    r-name

    you can download r-name from download.com . It's freeware and pretty nifty, especially if you want to rename your files back to their old filenames.

    Does all sorts of pre and post extensions, numeric counting, the works.

    Best of all, It's freeware!

    New Version of Graphic Converter

    "Lemke Software GMbH has released GraphicConverter v5.2, an updated version of their popular graphics conversion and editing software for the Mac. Dozens of changes have been made to this release, including the ability to export Photo (JPEG) pdb files, support for import of 12-bit color table TIFFs, display zoomed images with bicubic mode, improved WMF import and much more. GraphicConverter costs US$30 to register and works on Mac OS X and "Classic" Mac OS; v5.2 is a free upgrade for registered users who have v4.5 or higher."
