    GPU Codecs

    Hi

Any thoughts on supporting gpu accelerated codecs like HAP or DXV?

I know these are open-source and "can't be trusted", but I believe this to be a very usefull feature. To compare; d3 now support both and Hippo is working on their own gpu-codec.

With large files, especially with alpha (HAP Alpha), this would be of great help.

DXV is rubbish. I have used D3 and avoided using it because it wasn't even as good as Photo-JPEG at 60%.

    HAP I have not seen.

However, we have ProRes in all it's different flavours and Macs eat ProRes for breakfast.

10 bit, 4:2:2 - what's there not to like about that?
