currently being tested - sure Richard will release it when ready.
Suggest using 10.8.5 until ready
Everything except the most recent MacBook Pros will run 10.8.5.

Hi! Using the 10.8.5 is not good idea because of tearing video... As for me I have downgraded OS (I use MacPro 4.1 so it is not a problem) to 10.6.8 and now it runs much better. And what about Maverics, is it OK? I know that its only testing now, but I want to bay gtx680 wich runs only on 10.8.5 and 10.9, so this question is actual for me (and I think for most users)...
What video tearing?
I run MacPro 4,1 and 5,1 with OS 10.8.5 with either Quadro4000 or GTX680 in many different configurations with no problems.
Still testing Maverics and Catalyst so can't comment yet.

I am curious as I have the same tearing problem that instantly goes away on 10.6.8. Also playback is much smoother. Close inspection playing even one prores file in ML isnt perfectly smooth... SL is perfect.. same file, same settings. I would love to use ML and a 680 but it simply does not work correctly reliably for me either. What gives?
what tearing??
s
it looks like V-sync is disabled but a little bit different (with some little lines)...
one more thing, I can see tearing (on both screens, on HUD and on output) only when using Triple Head and only on high resolutions (I have worked with mix and movie resolution 2304x640, I tried AIC, ProRes and PhotoJPEG and result was the same)... other thing is pure performance, video is glitching and strobbing but movie and graphics load indicators are about 25-40% and FPS indicator (in Layers) is OK (25FPS and there is no drop frame indication)
I have also seen this before on some mac mini systems. The content will not be dropping frames at all and the meters are barely pegging 20% and there will be some serious horizontal lines and such in the video. It is much worse if running remote desktop.... It seems to be something that the video card can't just handle it. It's not a content, drive speed issue for sure as I can play back 8 layers without a skip, but it is something I have noticed... All videos in pro-res proxy, definitely the ones with higher data rates and faster content though.
Any help with this tearing issue? its obviously not an isolated case? The poor playback even though indicators are showing low resource usage is also consistent in all my testing.
