New macs ... new features? New cat?

So with the new macpro coming available later this year ( which seems to be a beast) I was wondering if there was plan to support dual graphics cards with more than 2 main outputs in catalyst overall?

There are a number of external thunderbolt PCIe chassis around and some interesting new ones on the market soon.

Not all cards are compatible though - drivers need to support thunderbolt connectivity and there is certainly a limit to the number of cards and bandwidth available - even with the next generation of thunderbolt.
It's a bad idea to speculate until its all released and fully tested.

The new MacPro has a good spec and interesting design, but the form factor is not ideal for our purposes...

It's just a pimped mac-mini really... The 'Pro' name should be removed

The new mac pro comes with 2 workstation class cards BUT, will apple develop something along the lines of SLI to cope with PCIe bus usage with two cards talking? Doubt it. As far as thunderbolt 2... with correct drivers we may be able to use capture cards in an external chassis but this is $$ and far from ideal... and one cant just add however many cards they want as thunderbolt is only a fraction of the bandwidth of the PCIe bus. As was said... Pimped mac mini... Not what we as catalyst users needed at all. Also.. thus far it would appear that to have more SSD storage than teh one internal would also require external thunderbolt chassis...Could be wrong but I dont see a place for expansion internally. The PCI bases ssd could be nice, if its a true pci based solution and not a pci card with sata controller on board.
