    Need several inputs

    I need some tips for how to configure a rack for a gig in may. I will be showing clips manipulated in catalyst for songs and IMAG between acts.
    I would like to be able to input two feeds from the trucks (SDI) one program and one iso.

    What do you recommend hardware wise to do this?

    On muse last year we used a Leitch sdi video switcher - switching between 8 or more camera inputs - a single sdi feed went to a decklink card.

    We controlled the Leitch switcher from catalyst using a single dmx channel.

    Zandar ( and others ) also make multi-image boxes, that put multi-streams onto a single sdi image. ( at one point on radiohead last year - we were talking about trying to get 16 video inputs at once - another solution was used in the end )

    Many companies make controllable sdi switchers - that can be controlled and switched from Catalyst.
    They use quite simple protocols.

    Extron has a range of sdi matrix or sdi switchers.

    Controlling these is built-in.

    The extron protocol is called the 'Simple Instruction Set'. SIS

    It's pretty easy to control an RS232 channel from the comfort of your Hog.
    Here's the Hog 2 library for doing this.

    Hugh

    //-------------------------------------------------------
    fixture = Cat SC
    manufacturer = 2
    product = 59
    name = Cat v3 Serial

    output = dmx

    parameter = Control
    default = 0
    highlight = 0
    crossfade = 1
    type = ltp8bit
    range = 0, no slot, noauto
    range = 6, slot 1, noauto
    range = 31, slot 2, noauto
    range = 56, slot 3, noauto
    range = 81, slot 4, noauto
    range = 106, slot 5, noauto
    range = 131, slot 6, noauto
    range = 156, slot 7, noauto
    range = 181, slot 8, noauto
    range = 206, slot 9, noauto
    range = 231, slot 10, noauto
