Thread: DVI Matrix with Digital TH2G

  1. DVI Matrix with Digital TH2G

Hi Guys I was wondering if you guys can give me some advice? I am running a show with a Digital TH2G outputting 2x1920x1080 60Hz and I am looking for a 8x8 DVI matrix that can switch this signal, I have had problems with DVI amps that don't like this signal so assume I will have problems with a Matrix, has anyone got an experiences of this setup and what works.
    Cheers

What DVI DA's are you currently using?
What is the firmware of your TH2G?
I use Kramer 6x6 an 8x8 DVI Matricies with TH2G-D with no problems
    - but you should get to the route of your problem before buying new kit...

  3. Hi Simon thanks for the reply. I have had problems with 2 lots of kits from XL firstly a pair of Gefen DVI splitters and then some unbranded DVI amps,
neither would pass the signal through. I will have to check what the firmware is on the Digital TH2G.
    Cheers for the help.

    can't comment about XL kit...

I've had problems with Gefen spliters in the past
try some others - we use TV-One / Kramer / Extron / Procon all with TH2G-D

Do you get an image if you connect an LCD or projector directly to the TH2G? - its a basic test - but could indicate if the TH2G is actually working correctly and the resolution is reported correctly o the LCD (or projector)

Just confirming that you are putting the matrix on the outputs of the TH2g right? If you are wanting to switch the input side of the box, you must use a dual link DVI matrix for that. Make sure you are going straight from the mac output to the TH2G with the short Dual Link DVI cable and test that you are getting the right signal first.

Matrix or DA's should definitely be on the output side of the TH2G...

...there are very few matrixes that work with the input side of the TH2G - and its not recommended.
