    syphon

I´m using this app with other media servers.

"Syphon is an open source Mac OS X technology that allows applications to share frames - full frame rate video or stills - with one another in realtime. Syphon gives you flexibility to break out of single-app solutions and mix creative applications to suit your needs. "

Personally, for me will be very interesting have this option in catalyst to use the output directly to other apps without external hardware.

Yes, would also like to know if this is possible...

I would like to also add my vote. Having this as an available input (just like QC is) and being able to output a mix to Syphon would be excellent.

I havent tried this yet but it may be possible to use the Syphon plugin with Quartz composer, create a patch and open this within Catalyst. When i get time I'm going to try this but would be interested in other peoples findings.

    sure would be nice
but like QC this stuff is not free for performance

you just can't start running multiple video intensive apps on one computer without hitting serious performance limits
fine if you want to play around - but just not fine for doing big shows

catalyst users typically already run their systems really close to the edge

I wanted to input in Catalyst some imagery generated from a Qc app I am building.

    ok made it.

use this in the command line

    defaults write com.apple.QuartzComposer.editor KCSafeModeOverride -dict-add 'CatalystPM 4.40_m329_HD' '( "QCPlugInPatch" )'

    use at your own RISK!!!!!
