    its not listed on ati's price list - so its not available yet.
    I spoke to the ati developer relations a while back, and they indicated april time.
    I dont think the card will be 'faster'.


    The performance limit that most people will come up against first of all is poor hard discs. ( i think you have explored a few of these options )

    scsi is the way to go here - if you want ultimate performance.

    radeon platinum 256mb is available!

    I just saw one at Fry's, the Excalibur 9800PRO IceQ 256 meg but didn't want to buy it till I got your ok.

    It was made for mac too, or maybe someone put it in the mac aree, I'll double check it. Supposedly there is a performance increase made in the card.

    Thats not a mac card. Thats a third party card.
    In my experience no third party pc graphics card has ever worked in a mac, they need different information to be given to the os.

    Right now, the performance limit is not the graphics card.
    There may be some operating system limit related to the way the graphics card is handled, but that is not the same thing.
