    capture vga

    Hi Richard

I need a capture for power point (vga). What do you recommend?

I've been watching the capture Epiphan:
    VGA2USBLR by 594 ?
    VGA2PCIe by 594 ?

    Any recommendations?

  2. VGA > Scan Convertor > HDSDI > Phoenix Input Card seems to be a popular solution.

The VGA2PCIe has only just got beta drivers for the Mac and by Epiphan's own admission "Performance isn't great"!

    Hi

Not the best product in the world - can suffer from low frame rate and latency
But not necessarily an issue for powerpoint.?
Can you export presentation to quicktime?

    Intensity Pro

I still have the issue of capture, power point.
I have proposed the following configuration.
TVOne VGA->HDMI video scaler + Decklink Intensity Pro HDMI.

    You think that can work?

    Yes - should work ok
We use and supply a lot of TV-one scan converters
Will give you best flexibility to match intensity pro input resolutions

If you have a computer what outputs DVI, you can just put a adapter from DVI to HDMI and the Intensity will capture just fine.... of course just at the resolutions intensity can see, basicly 480p 720p and 1080p. To test, if you put a Mac,, they talk to each other just fine... Intensity and the MAC DVI.

Anyway, Epiphan still getting a better quality and easier to go.

But Intensity also gives nice quality.

    Intensity doesn't do 1080P - only 1080i

It can be very tricky with the frequency.
I recently had one which wouldn't display 60Hz - it only did 59.94...

I think escueto only had VGA output - so direct connection not possible - in some cases can work fine... But not always.

Intensity PRO is a good cheap option and using a scan converter allows maximum flexibility and compatibility.

Epiphan can suffer greatly from latency and low frame rates - there are much better options for MacPro - but may be the only option with a MBP or MacMini.
