If I would like to have a file chase timecode, I have to create the file with timecode built in,
you dont have to create a video file with timecode - the timecode source would be external - ie from a sound playback system...

and then just use the correct playmode to allow that file to chase?
set the playmode to 'sync to SMPTE'
the inframe value defines the 'sync' point.
ie if your video file needs to start playing at 10s (25fps) the inframe value would be 250f

Outframe has no control.

And as Olli mentioned - if working at 25fps, you cant sync a track past 43 mins as ther arent enough 16 bit values (65536 = 43mins aprox @25fps)

There is an offset function available on the SMPTE device in the catalyst control window - however, it doesnt work as expected!...

basically - avoid anything over 43mins and move it to the next hour...
