Anyone knows if the Matrox MXO2 works to input video? It has the advantage that it is portable and could work with Macbook Pro's.

depends whether they did quicktime video input drivers...

you would have to buy one to check... or get one on loan.

but judging by the tech support questions on matrox forums -
it doesnt quite work properly at all right now-
even with final cut 3...

The spec says :"Works with Final Cut Pro, Apple Color, Adobe After Effects and all QuickTime applications that support the V-out component"
Does this means that there are quicktime drivers?

no - v-out is video output drivers.

you want video input quicktime drivers-

you might like to ask them a question-

this product looks very new- and not quite functioning yet. ( oct 09 )

the only way to actually find out would be to get one.

above all remember laptops change fast. and these devices might work in one laptop version - but not another.... it needs to be tested specifically on your model of laptop with your specific software- noone else can vouch that any third party hardware/software may or may not work on your setup...

other people have used active silicon cards inside magma expressbox pci boxes with reported success. i havent tested this myself. so i make no claims.
