    racking it up

Not completely cat related but it's come time to rack up some new macs and have a nice case built. From everyones experiences, are mac pros happier running in their normal orientation or horizontally?

Either way really isn't a problem in terms of case design, I just don't want to build it one way and change it six months down the track because the macs are having issues.

Was thinking of putting 1x ImagePRO HD per output and custom panel for preview/eth/artnet ect. What does everyone do for monitor/key storage? Anyone put UPS's in?

    Thanks for ideas.

  2. Hi there

Apple did have a water cooled processor a few machines ago which were only supposed to be used vertically. Newer machines don't mind.

Everyone has a different method of flight casing, alot of people have small racks which can fit in a car, some prefer great big wheeled cases for touring. Some have UPS's, some don't - it's all personal preference. Some people keep monitors in drawers by the mac, many keep monitors separate.

Its all down to what works for you - no case will fit the bill exactly, look around on gigs to see what other people have done, then work out what is good for you.

Maybe people could post pics of their favourite rack on here so we can all see what people are doing.
