    HD video input

    Hi all,

Which minimal specs are needed to have HD input? Macpro 2.8 8-core, GT 8800?

    Thanks,

    Peter

Cheapest HD is probably going to be a Decklink Intensity Card. I would encourage you to get a Phoenix instead though.

You can do this with the cheapest MacPro and it will work fine. Just add a OCZ SSD disk and for under $5k USD in hardware, you'll have a Catalyst machine which will do video capture.

Do you mean by cheapest, macpro 2.66 with X1900?

The cheapest HD video capture card is an Intensity. The base line 4 core MacPro with basic video card, and basic configuration will do HD video capture.

The current Mac Pro doesn't offer the X1900XT as a standard option. Instead the 4870 option is working fine.
