How do you output the videocomposite from the the mac ?
We first used the apple video-composite adaptor with pal res but couldnt get full screen. But here i forgot to check if i coud get away with the overscan feature in the display prefs mac os. Then we connected a kramer vp501xl scanconvertor with overscan settings with a res of 800x600 as mix output and display prefs output. Here we got full screen.

But the image was shaking a little bit (link when lowering refresh rates on a monitor). Like richard said, this could be because composite only works at a res from 320x240.

The reason i asked about the codec is because when we play a dvd in our dvd player and link it with composite (yellow) to a tv the image quality is much better. So its like there's a difference between this and using the vga-composite from a macpro?

How did you convert the DVD to .mov ?

I'm using http://handbrake.fr/ to encoding the dvd , then I play the content at the native resolution in a PAL resolution submix.
The mac pro screen output at 800x600 in the DVI .
then the DVI to the folsom http://www.barco.com/events/en/produ...asp?gennr=1484

in the folsom image pro you can input with the 800x600 then zoom and pan till you get the pal res centered.

    It work good for me.

The original movies are only 400x400 photojpeg 75%. So this could also be a problem. This is because the project was created for a projection a cube. But now we have a special setup for a festival.

Converting to dvd i do with mpeg streamclip.

The way you work with the folsom is the same way we worked with kramer. But will there be a great difference in quality because the folsom is an expensieve piece of hardware?

This week i will have setup at home. But the folsom is to expensive for this production.
