at first glance - i dont see any difference for catalyst.

but i dont have one to test.

    the 3000's are significantly cheaper..

  3. just for info:

The read speed for a 3000 series is 100mb/s, the 7000 is 120mb/s - there is a warranty difference between the two, 5 year for PRO (7000) , 3 year for MOBI (3000). 3000's have a plastic case, 7000's have aluminium cases.

cost wise from PID, 7000 series: 64gb is just over £1000, 32gb is £660
    3000 series: 64gb is just over £600, 32gb is around £300

i dont think the difference between 100MB/s and 120MB/s is significant in this application. yet. other things stop working before this limit is reached.

the first mtrons i tested were 100MB/s- the 120MB/s is a recent 'upgrade'....
