    Active Silicon - frame grapper - LFG4-MM-PE1

I have a G5 with an Active Silicon Frame capture card (LFG4-MM-PE1) build in
I grap 3 chanals composite video and show them with the Catalyst and a Matrox Triblehead analog in realtime 2400x600p.
The problem I have, is that the signal is not running smoothly.
Then a turn off the preview on screen one, they are running more smoothly, but not good.
It looks like the G5 has much more kraft to run it, Catalyst is only use 17% proc. kraft

Can some one help me with the problem. I think it must be a setup thing in the Catalyst

    Best Regards
    Claes

    which g5?
what refresh rates you run your screens?

    ---

triple heads on older g5 not recommended at all.
totally overwhelms older graphics cards. pre pci-express.

also different refresh rates with older graphics cards - and triple head- never resolved by graphics drivers.
    works ok in intel macs.

    Hi Richard
We have a new Mac 3G 8Core Intel MacPro with a 5GRAM and ATI X1900XT and V4 Catalyst.
    The refresh rates are 60
We are working with a Matrox Triple Head2GO - Digital Edition. Sorry

I got a new driver from Active Silicon, then I will try.

if you are in denmark - then arent you running at 25/50Hz?

You need to set your screens to the same refresh rate.
    Check with simon

I got mail from Simon. I will try to work with it tomorrow.
All the signals are running 60Hz incl. the projectors, but I think the capture card are runing 50Hz (Pal).
    I will inform you tomorrow.

yes pal is 50/25FPS. it is one of the critical things when doing video input to use the right refresh rate.

what exact resolutions are your screens?
    including 2nd output.

what frequency for the cinema display?

when doing this stuff - its really important that the monitors all play nicely together- sometimes they just dont.
    especially with triple heads.

please do a screen capture showing the exact refresh rate here:
    in the stats HUD.
