    Right, that is my point.

Perhaps, yes. However, there is also the fact that layers assigned to the small mix would still need to be layers that were not assigned to the main mix. This is the only reason I mention using a layer positioned and scaled instead.

When thinking about it now, I was proposing a way that might be simplest. I change my mind now realizing it's just as simple or easier to do the submix on top. It's just not something that can be changed from the controller (yet).

DMX controllable submixes would be nice and something I hope for soon.

    Thanks for all your help,

I am now back from LDI where i had the problem and I did in the end get it all to work fine. The scale issue was a problem but i got round it with use of content.
It was more luck than judgement on getting the right size mix but we got there.
DMX Control of mixes would have sovled the problem easier though.
I will add this to my list Richard!!
Once again thanks everyone for their help.

FYI... There are some custom versions of Catalyst that have DMX controllable mixes. The DMX control works great but I've actually been using the HUD in Catalyst and then using DMX triggers instead to trigger mix presets so that my DMX footprint is not as fat.
