The new enhancements do look interesting, especially Core Animation.
It seems that Leopard has media server technology built right into the API... And a pretty formidable one to boot.

Which leads me to ask: Does Catalyst handle Quartz Composer compositions within a QT file?

Catalyst has been able to run Quartz Composer movies for some time now - have a look through the posts on the forum.

quartz composer and 'core animation' sounds fine in theory- but in practise they are performance hogs whichever way you look at them.

fine on 1 layer not much use on more than that.

catalyst has to be optimised for playback on many layers.
