Have you tried using an Mtron in your external?

I would most likely be replicating images and spanning them across so three layers is good to hear. Were there any frame drops doing this?

Also, have you ever tried to layer-sync your MBP? If so, was it jittery?

    Fantastic Feedback, thanks
you need to remember that in the USA - everything is at 30FPS - everything in europe is normally 25FPS-

    30FPS is harder than 25FPS-
    20% more frames per second.

its is not possible to guarantee performance on laptops - there is no spare performance-

you have to test these things for yourself and find whether or not it is acceptable for your purpose.

Actually all the custom content my team creates I usually have made at 25fps because it runs better. Other times I'll just re-render stock content to 25fps.

The only time I worry about running 30fp (29.97) is when I am interfacing directly with TV or if the cameras of a shoot will be capturing a great deal of the video screen sets. Even in the case of the video screen sets, I still don't notice a great deal of flickering caused by frame disparity or mismatched scan rates. Actually in this case I am usually much more worried about color correcting and green shifting the projectors anyway so that the cameras actually see white light.

with lcd/dlp projectors flicker is from different sources.
    it doesnt matter so much

I think you meant to say "doesn't" right?

I was simply stating its a moot point to use 30fps and so I don't to save on computer resources.

thats a very tough problem as any non-incandescent bulb source doesnt have a smooth frequency output - but spikes at certain frequencies.
matching the light frequency response on cameras to projectors is not trivial - if it doesnt just work.
any green or brown shift - is most likely to be ageing bulbs -

projectors are not designed to be light sources.
