6 x 1024x768 with triple head and quaddro fx?

    Hello,
do anyone knows if I can run 6 x 1024x768 75Hz with this config:

    Mac Pro 8Core
    Nvidea Quadro FX 4500
    2 x Triple Head 2 Go Digital

If yes, is the NVidea the onliest card for MAC Pro to make this possible?

    Best regards
    Andre

Not a metter of GPU at all it's all about the HD .

Here I'm sure you can get up to 4 1280x1024 screen output using one TH2G and un Single DVI on a Ati xt1900 .

Then this does not mean you can run such big movies , it all depends on what kind of Hard Disk you have .

Can you provide us a sys profile ?

    Ok, don't misunderstand me.

Forget the harddrive for the moment.

    With Ati X1900 and 2 TH2G you can run 6 x 800x600 max.
What is with the Nvidea 4500? Can I run 6 x 1024x768 max.

Or can you tell me what is the advantage in using the
NVidea 4500 instead of the ATI1900?

    It's not a meter of resolution .

As far I know you can run " TEXTURES " up to 4096x2048 px for every layer . So 14 4096x2048 textures .

This does not mean that you can play 14 x 4096x2048 movies .

I don't think there is a improvement of performance by using NVidea 4500 .
So as far I know , there are no advantage .

-emil- i think he needs lots of outputs - not a big movie.

i do not know whether the nvidia 4500 can run 6x 1024x768-
whether it works or not depends on the graphics card and the graphics card drivers - it has nothing to do with my software.
it is not something i can control.

    emil-

i think he is talking about number of outputs -

the x1900 does not like running with 6x1024x768-
the 7300 will do this - just about - but the performance on 7300 is not so good.

its in the graphics card and the graphics card driver - not in my software.

i do not know whether the 4500 will run 2x triple heads.

I personally tested the follow :

One Mac pro 2.66 with 2 giga ram and a ATI RADEON XT 1900 4 sata drive amounted on the internal bays
One TRIPLE head 2 GO DIGITAL EDITION ( very important not the analog edition )
    Catalyst m147

    I was able to output 4 x 1280x1024 @ 60 HZ ( 4 = 3 on TH2G - 1 on second DVI output )

    Also ...

I've personally tested the follow :

Mac 2,66 2 giga ram with ATI RADEON Xt 1900 using TWO triple Head2Go Analog edition allow me to output the follow

    6x800x600 @60hz

This is what I had from my system ....

Once an old rich man told me :
One don't know if one don't test

'digital edition' only worked at 60hz last time i checked.

you need to be super careful mixing screen sizes with different sizes on different outputs - because it does not always work and can kill performance.
