Hey Richard,
Would you be willing to conduct testing for the Macbook Pro using m150 the same way you did it on the 2.66 quad and 3Gb 8-core using the Mtron?

Richard,
You conducted extensive testing in this other thread showing frame rate and ultimately spit out results for different resolutions. I was eagerly hoping you would do the same for your Macbook Pro and publish them for us.
I am interested in knowing how many layers I could run of DV, PhotoJPG, and Apple Intermediate Codec on a Macbook Pro as a single output and then also using a DualHead2Go or TripleHead2Go on a Macbook Pro.

there are rather a lot of different models of mac book pro's!
with different firewire ports and configurations and bus speeds- and different graphics options.
they dont have anywhere near the bus bandwidth or graphics power of desktop machines-
with laptops you have to use a different strategy - begin with very low expectations and move upwards if it works.

do you have a mac book pro yourself?

Added mix size of 1400x 1050. thanks hilary
people need more sub mixes- changed mixes to lite-4 express-6 dv-8. jojo.
fixed crash with random release from hog with framestore playback. thanks spooky.
increased submix size to 1680x1200- ( this is really pushing things on older machines.... ).
There is still the issue of the size jumping if you are trying to resize the largest size mix.
My scenario is that we are using a Spyder to spread a single output of a 1900xt at 1920 x 1600 over 2 projectors. Ideally I want the mix to be 1920 x 612 pixels. If I size the mix to 1920 x 1080 as per the menu in Mix options it goes to that size no problem. But if I want to drag the corner up to get my 612 size the width snaps to 1710 pixels.
I can get around this with cropping and positioning on the Spyder but I would really like to have it on the Catalyst so I can preview the image at the source and see that my sizing is all correct and that my custom artwork looks as it should.
Cheers
Toby
Image Pro control
Recent software builds after around m145 - have included my experimental direct folsom imagepro control panel
http://video.folsom.com/products/?in...70327722_18404
I have written a control panel to read and write parameters directly to the imagepro over ethernet-
You can read the settings on all 4 inputs.
Switch between inputs.
Enter exact zoom and scale positions.
To use the device- you need to set the imagepro to use a static ip address
To enter the address of the imagepro into catalyst - you click were it says N/A - then type in the address of the device-
When you click OK they should start talking to each other.
That's great... Screen Pros are the next ?

Hi chers.
I tested FOLSOM/BARCO IMAGE PRO SD (standard definition)with:
powerpoint 1024 x 768 presentation on PC Laptop in VGA mode in
and SDI output, connected to black magic Extreme HD of my Catalyst.
Working fine at best resolution.
You need to select "INTERLACE OFF" in the HUD input control panel,
relatively to the input are you using.
This features is good during "CONVENTION" where people to use
POWERPOINT presentation.
On wednesday il will check the same test using
FOLSOM/BARCO IMAGE PRO HD (high definition)
to import high resolution POWERPOINT presentation.
Thanks Richard
