    DisplayConfigX and 720p

    has anyone been brave enough to play around with this- to try and get a 720p or 1080i output from a mac?

    or this?
    switchresx?
    http://www.madrau.com/html/SRX/whysr.html

    there are some tutorials on doing this:

    and some posts-

    recommended is having vnc setup so that when you break your monitor display with incompatible settings you can go back...

    that is just the cable -

    you have to get the right dvi format for the intensity card to work- it needs to be 720p or 1080i.
    thats what you need the software for- only configuringdvi output from computer to do this isnt trivial.

    Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering.

    think only of yourself as a worm. then a rock.

    is reaching the road the beginning or the end of the journey?

    dvi cables are one of the great mysteries of the universe.

    learn to accept that the expensive gold dvi cable you just bought, does not work. doesnt give you any picture. does not like talking.
    Maybe it has learnt that silence and stillness is better.
    Maybe it is trying to teach us a lesson about things we cannot understand.

    NO ! ours mission is to make light were it was dark .

    BTW isn't OSX recognize every source it's connected to it ?

    why apple should sell a DVI to HDMI cable in the apple store if then it will not work ? ....

    sometimes the darkness is in the hearts of others-
    if i stand at the door, and i dont say the right password - maybe i wont get in - even if i have the right shaped key to open the door.
    maybe there is al-chemy- metaphysics - things we cannot see feel or touch taste or hear, magic that flows through the ether.

    you must look beyond the material - you must look beyond the simple physical existence of 'the cable' ...

    you can eat whatever you can buy to put into your mouth - that does not mean you should.

    little file

    iR we don't need to do nothing more that this :

    edit :

    /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.Boot.plist

    with :

    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple Computer//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd">
    <plist version="1.0">
    <dict>
    <key>Kernel</key>
    <string>mach_kernel</string>
    <key>Kernel Flags</key>
    <string></string>
    <key>Boot Graphics</key>
    <string>Yes</string>
    <key>Graphics Mode</key>
    <string>1920x1080x32</string>
    </dict>
    </plist>

    Make sure you run ARD and Remote access , or what I suggest is to make a nice clean new OSX installation in one of your zilion HD and try that .

    I'm pretty sure it going to work .
