Decklink Intensity Sony V1P and HDMI Input

Well i just got a decklink intensity and a Sony HDR- V1P-

    http://www.decklink.com/products/intensity/
    http://www.sony.com.au/objects/Other/HVRV1P/html/

the V1P seems to be the first Sony HDV camera that does progressive scan,
Progressive scan means the input doesnt have to be deinterlaced.

and i seem to be able to get them to talk using HDMI - and get the input into catalyst.

Early days - but a good start.

    from : http://www.hdmi.org/about/faq.asp

" HDMI supports standard, enhanced, or high-definition video, plus multi-channel digital audio on a single cable. It transmits all ATSC HDTV standards and supports 8-channel, 192kHz, uncompressed digital audio and all currently-available compressed formats (such as Dolby Digital and DTS), HDMI 1.3 adds additional support for new lossless digital audio formats Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD with bandwidth to spare to accommodate future enhancements and requirements. "

    HDMI transport audio too .

i wasnt thinking of that - forgot sound visualisation - i dont know.

this certainly isnt something that would be a priority or even important about hdmi things -as there are perfectly usable sound inputs with jack sockets -
