I use the 'Use Layer' function often on shows. I have a question on how it plays back the file.
Does Catalyst re pull the file from the hard drive or does it somehow just pass on the information already being used by the layer that is being copied?
Maybe it's a silly question, but I'm curious.

Hello Chris,
the Use Layer function is to save system resources when the same file is needed twice.
The video played back on the source layer will only pulled once and the the second layer set to "Use Layer" simply hooks up on the stream.
Means when you stop the source layer, the "Use layer" will stop too and it is always at the same frame position.
