are firewire 800 drives and better than firewire 400?

performance in catalyst depends on the drive speed not the interface.

as far as i can tell, firewire drives are limited by the speed of the ata interface and the drives themselves, not the interface speed.

so, no firewire 800 will make very little difference to performance.

I just post some of my experiences on the other topic, in this forum, i really apprecciatte if you can comment. Specialy talking on more than one Drive as RAIDs or so....

i will look at what you said when i get some more drives.

things change all the time in computers, the operating system and hardware gets changed in subtle ways that can affect performance.
