Phoenix Issue With 720

was wondering if anyone else has had this issue:
I cannot get my phoenix to work with 1280x720... works fine with ntsc and 1080i but will not work with 720 at any frame rate. The source has been verified as working. I have tried on snow and leo, reflashed card, relaoded drivers, reinstalled os. Oddly enough if I send 1080 or ntsc to it while setting it to 720 it will at least show frames counting and a distorted/shifted image. As soon as I set the card to receive 720 it stops working. As I said this source DOES work. I have a call in AS and await their call back but was wondering if anyone had any ideas???
