Hello,
I have a question about graphic cards. We are planned to buy a 8 core mac pro. We can choose out of 2 graphic cards:
ATI HD 2600 XT, 256 MB or the
Nvidia Geforce 8800 GT, 512 MB.
Which will be the best for a the catalyst software?

Between those 2 cards I would go with the nVidia for a lot of reasons.
The best overall is still the ATI RADEON X1900XT if you can get it.

The ATI HD 2600 XT does not perform as well as either the Nvidia Geforce 8800 GT, 512 MB or ATI RADEON X1900XT
The ATI RADEON X1900XT performs slightly better than Nvidia Geforce 8800 GT, 512 overall in a 2008 MacPro (current model).
Macs purchased from apple can be spec'd with any of the 3 above. I would recommend the ATI RADEON X1900XT
