Particle type control in FX using a Web App

You mentioned something about writing a particle engine, I had a few thoughts.

I've been experimenting with writing a few apps for iPhone and my thoughts have been about how easy it is to write all kinds of little independent control apps. Specifically though I've been thinking about web apps, widgets, and gizmos instead of full blown encapsulated applications.

I had a very specific thought after reading a recent thread here and also upon discussion with the needs of a new client.

If there were a tool in the FX window which was basically just a shift where a user using a remote app on another computer could feed mouse position data back into the Catalyst for doing real time image shifting.

The idea would be a remote app where a pair of crosshairs would show up on a screen and by the user shifting the cross hairs with a mouse, the FX channel engaged would shift the layer in the same manner proportionately.
