Those capture cards can go up to 16 th Video Inputs in Composite.
Active silicon LFG4 video digitisers.
http://www.activesilicon.co.uk/products_fg_lfg.htm
Richard SAMSC posted another thread with that information...
If you buy these cards - mention me - you need to get drivers from me.
I admit I only did a quick look around but couldn't find them for sale, who is selling them in North America?

hello SAMSC,
Did you test the Catalyst System with 6 video inputs??? Which hardware did you use and were the video streams played in realtime?
best wishes
saoirse
i have several shows up and running with 6-8 realtime video inputs.
using the hardware listed in this thread.
hello,
there is only one video capture card importing more than 6 video simultanously.
But I only wanted to know the performance of the processor and if the videos were or are synchronise - things like that. Because I have not the chance to test it...
best wishes
saorise
I don't know why, SAMSC maybe can answer that to you, but we normaly use like 2 Video Inputs, and they do not use any MOVIES graphic use, as well the processor,... looks like the Video Inputs goes almost directly to the output.
I am shure they use some resources of the machinne, but I can not see it the computer working so hard.
video input uses a different part of processor, and its not so easy to measure the performance, and its not in catalyst application.
video input typically gets a delay - if computer is doing too much - but the delay isnt in catalyst its in the way operating system deals with video input.
the lfg4 cards dont work in the same way as decklink cards.
The card looks really interesting, and pretty reasonably priced ($995.US)
What drivers are required?
Which exact version for a Mac Pro?
-s
you need to ask active silicon what the exact card is for your machine.
i have drivers that need to be used.
Hi Richard,
You have indicated in your replies that you have drivers for the AS cards. Where do i locate them please?
Thanks
ianp
please try this:

Thanks for the drivers, I have installed these and I can still not get any input. Do you have any ideas?
Thanks
Ian
which computer?
did you turn them on in application preferences?
what do you see in the inputs HUD?
Hi Richard,
The MAC is a 2.66Ghz MAC Pro Running 10.4.8.
The peferences are set up correctly as per your screen shot.
In the catalyst control it reports 4 video channels.
In the HUd, inputs section there are 4 boxes and they show that all video inputs are off. If I tick the box it appears to try to load some settings and then returns back to off. I have tried versions 111 and 097.
Thanks
Ian
please email me your screen captures.
Richard,
Screen captures as requested. Also, I can get this to work using a Canopus ADVC110.
please do 'make pdf profile' from application menu.
Richard,
As requested,
Thanks
Ian
Next-
you might need to run an application-
System->Library->CoreServices->Expansion SlotUtility
Select a different configuration in this from the current one - this is an active silicon issue...'
certain computers have intermittent recognition of cards...
reboot computer.
you installed several times the LFG Vdig driver - but an old version that doesnt work with intel macs. LFG VDig1.5 does not work with intel....
you should not install the LFG Vdig driver at all.
Only the software that i told you to.
Richard,
I have removed the incorrect drivers and run those you provided without success. How do I remove your drivers and then I can remove the card etc and start again. I have also used the system utility as requested and this also does not help
Thanks
Ian
try removing card and putting it back in.
your card gave an error message - i have sent an email to active silicon asking what the error means.
Hi Richard,
Thanks for the update. I have now tried the following
1. remove incorrect drivers and re-install those provided by yourself.
2. remove the card and reinstalled.
3. alternative settings for the bus.
4. remove the additional graphics card and the internal usb card.
5. try all three spare slots.
6. try the above with both 97 and 111 versions. What I have noted is that even if I re-install 97, the first of the four video screens is titled "DV Video - ADVC-110" which I suspect is remaining from my tesp with the Canopus unit.
7. A Canopus ADVC110 unit works with both 97 and 110.
Any further idea's other than the issue with AS card. I have attached the latest PDF.
Thanks
ian
i have no idea.
quite a few people have got it working even last week.
noone in the last few weeks has reported anything like this.
---
Im awaiting a reply from Active silicon about error message.
the card driver reports an error message in the log
I dont expect a reply before monday.Quote:
LFG 1 Error LFG_DRV_Open status 1f030002 - message Open call to CDA library failed***
As a last resort you might like to try installing all the updates that apple made last week.
Richard,
Thanks again, I have installed the apple files without success. I have also re-installed all the Catalyst sw along with the drivers for the card, again without succes.
I have noticed that there appear to be two versions of the card driver, 2.0 and 2-1.0, I have installed the latest.
Looks like the answer ies with AS, possibly a faulty card???
Thanks and have a good weekend.
Ian
yes.
i got an error message from their driver - so im waiting for their reply.
i confirm.
i'm working with LFG4 and under guide by Richard,i used
as-lfg-mac-sdk-v02_00_00.dmg and LFG direct driver 2.0.dmg
after enabled it all video input was ok.:D

you have to unistall completely LFG Vdig drivers and reinstall the
drivers reiceved from Richard.
Uninstalling the Video Driver (VDIG)
You will need to know the root/Administrator password to perform a driver uninstall.
1. Open up a terminal window from a 'Finder' window:
Run '/Applications/Utilities/Terminal'.
2. Type the following commands exactly as shown:
sudo rm -rf /Library/QuickTime/lfgvdigx.component
sudo rm -rf /System/Library/Extensions/cdapci.kext
sudo rm -rf "/Library/Documentation/Active Silicon"
exit
3. Then close the terminal window, shutdown and restart the computer.
your error probability is ref. a different library cdapci.kext for not INTEL MAC.

you can do it on CATALYST preferences
and in the config panel put flag on LFG4 direct driver.
