View Full Version : 4 Discreet Outputs
Will the new PCIx options in the Mac Pro enable 4 discreet outputs?

graphics architecture does not support easy or fast transfer of texture movies between cards - everything has to be duplicated to each card - not going to work.
---
much easier to try using 2x 'triple head to Go'. which might give up to 6 outputs.
only one graphics card needed for this.
Any idea when the current Beta(which I have been testing alot) with the Matrox support will be "official release"? I am doing a show in October with a 120'x30' screen, 120,000 lumens and my client needs 3 discreet feeds with as high a resolution as possible just for that screen in addition to the other screens/walls. Thanks Richard.

the matrox device is just a piece of hardware - its not software. no drivers. nothing.
you have to test these things for yourself to see if they work well enough - its just video gear.
and you will have to test the resolution output.
What kindof resolution are you thinking of?
---
catalyst itself wont play back any more movies - so your restrictions on number of layers will be dependant on hard discs as always.
how many movies do you need at once on your show?

I saw at the LDI the use of the matrox triple head 2 go and have ordered two to be used on my CAT V4... is there any special driver that I need???
or would my G5 simply recognize them as monitors capable of (3x1024)x768 resolutions.
thanx

no drivers.
just need to make sure that both outputs from mac are doing the same thing - same size same refresh rate- otherwise weird stuff happens.
