Hello, I've to link two different G5 one running Cat V4 and an other that running an other application . Let's Call the second application AppX.

AppX can receive live input from firewire or blackmagic .

the dirty way that I don't want to use is to output Cat G5 on SDI and link the SDI to the AppX in the second G5 . But this will use video res and it's not good for what I have to do .

So I wondering wich is the best output to use to link the cat to AppX to use nice big resolution ?

thanks

Catalyst will not output on the SDI, as the graphics card handles a lot of what catalyst outputs, and the SDI card cannot handle this. In order to get SDI out, you'll need to convert it using some sort of external box to HD-SDI and then run that into the HD-SDI card on the other computer. Make sure you test all of this out thouroughly before you get into a show situation so you can find any kinks before its too late.
