Hi Richard

I gather v3.32 h25 is the latest built for PPC runing 10.3.9. I have some trouble setting up serial devices using the keyspan 4 port adaptor in v3.3_g21 Pro. Happy to explain in another thread, but first I'd love to try the latest built...;)

Sven (Ortel, that is - I saw there's another one now)

ill build a new one for you.
I have made a few changes this last week, to fix serial port configuration things.
i am also showing more feedback for tcpip ports.

great, thanks. btw the tcpip way of doing this is a hit on v4, but I've got a few v3 Cats as well - that's why...

im building it right now.

tcpip can be a nightmare to debug without a little help - if networking or routing is in there.
also of the two types of connections with tcpip ports - tcp and udp- tcp is a lot more hassle as the connection has to stay open the whole time.
With udp ( which is like artnet ) - its a bit easier.

The equinox boxes you are using right now - only seem to support tcp connections.
I think the moxa boxes support both.

The link does not seem to work.. I had a look at the highend download pages, seems only h24 is available for download ?

Also, what is the recommended OsX and quicktime version for a dual 2.5 g5 for use with h24/h25 ?

thanks,

gideon

I am running h25 on my dual2.0 G5 (bought from HES 2.5 years ago). I am currently running 10.3.8 which is recommended on the blackmagic design page for the decklink extreme.

I'm not at all knowledgable on the Mac. Is 10.3.8 that much different than 10.3.9 that you wouldn't recommend it? My system hasn't shown any real problems recently, but I also don't push it that hard.

Thanks.

not sure which page you saw that?

unless that page is old - this is not something that blackmagic would be recommending. - see below.

there were actually major changes - mostly hidden - at 10.3.9 - such that 10.3.9 is the only version supportable by any applications that are built with apples development system...

i believe on this page here:

http://decklink.com/support/detail.asp?techID=60#ppc_panther

they refer to this - but i believe they are talking about final cut 5.x - a final cut 5.x problem and decklink - not anything to do with this.

yes but i think this refers to final cut 4.5 and decklink compatibility.

i believe they are refering to a problem between final cut 4.5 and 10.3.9....

with catalyt - i recommend you use 10.3.9

Ok, 10.3.9 it is. I'll post if there is any wackiness with the Blackmagic card. Thanks Richard.

if it is running - fine- and you have a show that is currently running- dont suggest you change anything or update anything.

one never knows what happens...
