a pixelmad or catalyst system with led fixtures and the led's are randomized flickering and flashing.

as result: you have to upgrade to ether-lynx firmware 3.08, it will fixed a lot of trouble with flashing dmx-outputs at the artnet/dmx interfaces. not perfect, but the system will running really better with this software version. the new catalyst and pixelmad version are running very well and so you have to check at first your artnet/dmx interfaces, if you have any trouble with your led's.

what i did to find out:

1. unplugg my lighting console and work with presets from software application. the flickering continues...
2. control my patch, that there was no doubled dmx-addresses, fixtures eg
3. do the normal dmx steps, dmx-tester, dmx-workshop from artistic license, change cables, use terminator... flickering continues
4. new firmware for ether-lynx, better, but not on all universes
5. change the ouput ports from ether-lynx, better, but not real safe and fixed

if you had shutdown your mac you will see a small randomize flashing over all universes and devices,...

thanks mike.

this is a problem that looks like my software - but is an etherlynx problem.

Hi Mike,

I think we have managed to cure the problem by downgrading to firmware version V3.00. The full RDM implementation came in at V3.01 which appears to have caused the issues you are seeing.

I hope this helps. Please let us all know!

You can also try disabling the RDM on outputs C and D by using the internal jumper JP8.

I just ran into a problem with some frame dropping in Cat. v4 with in the pixelmad portion of the program. The fix that worked for me was to set the Artnet in the Catalyst to "Routable Static Artnet." Once that was set it worked like a dream.
