This is the first beta preview of Catalyst v4 that runs on intel and PPC.

This is intended to be functionally the same as the ppc only version.

URL Deleted.

Dongles do not work with this build.

So far this has been tested on an Intel iMac only.
Performance is pretty good on intel.

Needs Mac OS X 10.4.5 on both PPC and Intel as minimum.
And 1Gb Ram minimum.

Please report bugs and problems to the bugs forum.

How good is the Intel mac-

in my testing - the graphics is at least as good as a dual g5 2.5Ghz.

Disc and playback performance not really tested, as only firewire 400 ports are available

suggest best performance would be running a SATA Raptor 150Gb drive in a firewire 400 box.

The best web page currently showing performance between Intel and PPC machines:

http://www.macintouch.com/specialreports/perfpack02/

On quite a lot of benchmarks the Intel Imac is pretty close to a dual g5 2.5Ghz

What kind of Cat version will be possible to run on a new Top Performance Mac mini ?

4 Layers ? 6 ?

Mac mini seams to be the best Machine in term of size to be located directly inside a mooving video projector .

Can a mac mini do what a Dl2 integrated media server doing ?

thanks

you will have to try one to see what happens.

Im not trying to do what the dl2 does - there seem to be many more applications of this stuff when not tied to a video projector.
