What resolution do you recommend rendering in to work best with your software?
Our PixelLine will be 32 pixels wide and 18 pixels tall. Do you suggest video be rendered in this resolution? Or something higher?

What file type? QuickTime perhaps?
And what CODEC? JPG perhaps?

Depends on what effect you want.

If you want a specific effect on specific pixels you should try and create content at the size of your pixel array.

If you dont need this then you can use any of the normal codecs and image sizes that work well in quicktime, and then scale the image to fit.

Dont expect to be able to see any image detail on 32x18 pixels!
You wont see anything recognisable.

Mine is all 320 x 240 photo jpg. Works very well with LEDs, Versatiles/Tubes, Mipix etc. I have yet to do a show which requires more pixels than this.

what compression value?

what would you do if you want something to be transparent?

I am asking this question on behalf of someone else...

I use 50% quality. I'm not sure about the transparency. I have not had the need to investigate. I frequently use masks, transparent white, black etc for keying text and logos over other content but from within the software.
