last week we were doing some EDID capture
and we noticed that the default Parrot 1080p50 EDID was wrong-
or rather it was different from image pros, matrix pros-

Parrot EDID timing was a 141.50MHz clock 2544x1144
screen refresh is 49.929Hz
803

Image Pro/Matrix pro 148.50Mhz clock 2640x1125
screen refresh 50.000Hz
804

49.929 is nowhere near 50.000

smpte timings from this page show image pro correct

http://www.oocities.org/yehcheang/SMPTE_274_295.html
805

any comments?

you might end up with different results depending upon the timing table
There are a few different timing tables used to generate the EDID settings:
GTF / CVT / SMPTE

Take a look in a Datapath X4 output timing page, or Lightware matrix advance EDID editor…
or Google 'edid timing tables'
see page 76 of the following publication:

and

...Dont get me started about CEA extensions HDMI and new MacPros!

the issue is the refresh rate timing - not the specific "GTF / CVT / SMPTE"

49.929HZ is not 50.000Hz - in a 25Hz/50Hz system
if you are mixing parrots cameras matrixes -
and parrots are giving you the wrong timing - default parrot settings need changing….

if you use a 49.929Hz refresh you will get glitching with almost every other type of video equipment
