Hi all,

We would like to try 12 outputs from 1 server.
Movie resolutions will all be the same, 600x480px.
We only have experience with TH2G's and datapath's.
Would the tvone coriomaster mini be an option.
Any advice and/or suggestions are much appreciated.

The other way would be multiple servers.

Thanks,

Peter

If they all the same you need just distributor, if You need sidewall controller and have for example infinity or other things that have own software, you can setup w/o any hardware setup. Or you can use kramer server, or just buy matrox video card with video out multiplier. Many various variants. If its all independent out: 1 of variants is: mac pro with 6 thunderbolt output, that divide on 3 bus, use miniDP to DVI DL adapter and use device for power over usb for additional voltage, and use 3 datapath x4,or datapath dL8 + x4 etc. There are multiple ways.

it's 12 different movies corresponding to 12 projectors (same brand and type) with lots of cues beaming onto 12 objects, meaning at least 24 layers and 12 mixes and we need lipsync audio playback (probably seperate audio server with smpte)

Go for a new Mac Pro and use 3 Datapath x4
I don't like the TVone stuff...
Sync via SMPTE and Audio via Logic or so would be recommended as well

datapath's are what we're thinking about

because 3 thunderbolt busses = 3 x4's
do you think sharing a monitor screen on one of the busses would exceed the bandwith of the bus?

would a DL8 and 3 x4's be a viable solution because our movies are only 640x400px?

You mean another monitor for control?
No that would work. You could use the HDMI port, this is on bus #3
If you look on the 6 TB ports the buses are like this:

1 2
1 2
3 3
HDMI (also on 3)

yes, a 27" 2560x1440 monitor for programming

do we need to create 2 partitions on the macpro 2013: mac os and media or doesn't that matter?

thanks!

On Mac os, that based on FreeBSD, number of partition is only formal thing. I have an issue with hdmi port that work on full hd resolution max. Based on link that I post in neighbor theme you can use 3 bus with 6 active mini tb to dual link dvi adapter, but maximum 3 output with 4k resolution.
